Tar Heel Cutlery Club knives prominently displayed at the new National Knife Museum

KNIFE COLLECTORS ACROSS AMERICA HAVE A NEW NATIONAL MUSEUM

At 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 a ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official opening of the new National Knife Museum. This Museum is located on the premises of Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sieverville,TN.  It is a state-of-the art production featuring the history of knife
making from the beginning until the present. Collections from most of the prominent names in our hobby are featured there, along with a large collection of the knives of various Knife Clubs. This is an unbelievable museum of which we can all be extremely proud.

Our Tar Heel Cutlery Club was represented by George Manuel, President and Sherl Folger,
Vice President, who took our 32 knife collection to be displayed prominently.

Everyone owes a huge thank you to Kevin Pipes, the owner of Smoky Mountain who graciously donated space in his building and our great admiration for the job performed by Pete Cohan who worked long hours, days, weeks and months to bring to fruition this marvelous place.
